What do you like to do most outside of ABLT?
Yard sales, garden, raise chickens, and watch movies with the family.
What’s your hometown?
Keene, NH, although Atlanta has been home since 1985.
How long have you been in the labeling business?
I have been in the label business since 1982. I printed many, many barcodes for government contractors back then.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
Being a manufacturer and providing labels that go on products all over the world.
What’s something about you that not many people know?
I go to kickboxing classes.
Who is a hero of yours?
Business owners who can keep their sense of humor.
Richard Davey, Vice President
What’s your favorite part of the job?
Solving problems. I love the idea of being given a challenge that has a set of variables and coming up with a solution that did not exist before.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spare time? Until I start losing kids to college I don’t expect to see much in the way of spare time. If I had more personal time I would do more community volunteer work.
What’s something about you that not many people know?
Growing up I went by the nick name Ripp all the way through college. When I took my first job I convinced myself that it did not sound very professional and have used Richard in my professional life ever since. The problem is that it’s very schizophrenic to be called one name by friends and another by everyone else.
Who is a hero of yours?
My wife, I don’t know anyone who can better juggle the requirements of owning a business and raising kids. I call it Zen and the art of business driven chaos
