3M 7879 Matte Silver Polyester

7879 is an extremely durable matte polyester stock that offers high abrasion and chemical resistance. This material utilizes 3M™ Adhesive 350. Excellent adhesion to LSE plastics and textured, powder coated, painted surfaces. Automotive Underhood Chemical Resistance.

Additionally the 7879 Polyester’s top-coat prints beautifully when paired with our digital color press.

  • This material offers wide range of long term durability and adhesion, including automotive chemical resistance and outdoor durability.
  • #350 adhesive is 3M’s most universal adhesive for label materials.  It can permanently bond to high surface energy (HSE) and low surface energy (LSE) plastics, textured and contoured surfaces, powder coatings, and slightly oily metals.   It has excellent chemical resistance and holding strength even at extreme temperatures.   Thick adhesive caliper provides for stronger bond on textured surfaces.

Background
Customer needed a label printer that could run very small quantities of their serialized part number labels and ensure that there would be no missing or duplicate labels. Quality and durability of the label were of extreme importance.
Challenges
The issue was that there were over 250 different model numbers and each model number could have a different starting serial number at any point in time. All orders needed to be downloaded from the customer’s website and their current vendor was having a difficult time keeping track of all the models. In addition, all open orders needed to be shipped once a week every week.
Solution
•    The first step was to supply an adhesive and material combination that could stand up to the harsh environment that Kubota tractors experience on a daily basis.
•    The second step was to work with the customer’s technology support staff to understand their automated order entry system and design an internal tracking and inventory system that would let us download, print, inventory, and ship on a weekly basis.

Special materials – Customer needed a magnetic label that would not come off their racking easily. Our normal 30 mil magnet was not strong enough and we had to source an even thicker 45 mil magnet to meet their needs.

Easy location identification – The customer wanted to emphasize the Bay and Position with a bright color to help direct their staff to specific locations in their warehouse.

Printed variable pictures – Each label had a picture of an up or down arrow that need to be printed depending on information from their database.

Cost effective – We were tasked to produce 70,000 labels quickly and economically using our digital press.

3M 7813 Matte Silver Polyester

3M™ Thermal Transfer Polyester Label Materials 7813 is a durable matte polyester stock that offers high abrasion and chemical resistance. This material utilizes 3M™ Adhesive 300, which has excellent, quick tack and also bonds well to a variety of surfaces, including LSE plastics.

  • Matte topcoat provides the advantages of matte coating combined with a surface that is smooth enough for thermal transfer printing. Resin ribbons are recommended for optimum durability. The matte coating resists degradation from scuffing, chemicals, moisture, and wide temperature fluctuations. The topcoat also provides improved ink anchorage for traditional forms of press printing.
  • Adhesive bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, high surface energy (HSE) plastics, and low surface energy (LSE) plastics. It is ideal for applications requiring high initial adhesion, especially to LSE plastic surfaces.
  • 55# densified kraft liner assures consistent die cutting.

Material comes in a white semi-gloss coat with a good general purpose adhesive. The surface prints extremely well with our digital UV cure printing system to give a high quality appearance label. Face – Polyester White, White, semi-gloss, chemically treated polyester film.

Liner – 40# High Density White, White transparent glassine liner. Specially developed for film label materials to offer the best conversion properties.

Temperature range of 14 °F … 248 °F

Durable label stock for indoor and outdoor applications including permanent nameplates for TV’s circuit boards and even hair dryers. Excellent quality print when combined with UV digital ink.

Barcode Location Labels Made of Durable Polyester

Barcode Location LabelsWe work with you to give you a label designed to suit your needs not our production capabilities. We encourage producing samples for testing before production begins, this way any problems are uncovered before your labels are installed.

Racking labels can be made of a number of different materials but in our experience Polyester (sometimes referred to as Mylar) produces the most long lasting and durable label.

We have different options on how the labels are printed including UV cured inks (the most durable) and thermal transfer.

All labels can be laminated with a clear or matte clear Polyester film.

Bartender by Seagull Scientific

Years of printing bar codes and variable data labels have lead us to conclude that we get the cleanest reading barcodes when using Bartender label design software. Seagull designed the pic_product_bartender_f_improf_144x174very first windows print driver and their print drivers are included with many of the thermal transfer printers sold today.

Bartender label design software is easy to use and can be integrated with the customers current software systems.

In our manufacturing process, we currently are using printers from Datamax, Zebra, Sato, and QuickLabel Systems. We are a Datamax-O’neil partner and are resellers of Zebra and Sato.

Thermal Transfer Ribbon

Our experience with many of the different ribbon manufactures is that there is no substitute for consistent quality. After close to 30 years of testing thermal transfer ribbons, we have chosen to align ourselves with ITW thermal films because of their consistency of quality.

In addition, we have a group of ribbons that when combined with 3M’s TT3 labels stock are resistant to many oils, greases, solvents, and abrasion. For numerous customers, we have Thermal_Transfer_Ribbon-135_f_improf_150x135been able to design printing systems that allow them to print their labels in-house without the need of an overlamination film.

We keep in stock many sizes of Wax, Wax/Resin and Resin ribbon for immediate delivery. We only sell ribbon that we would use in our own production.

Quality – Asset tracking labels, produced from extra durable polyester label stock, are resistant to heat and chemicals. Our custom asset labels can be imprinted with your logo to distinguish your assets from that of any other and to reinforce brand awareness. Braille & Tactile Labels

Tactile Triangle Hazard Warning Labels

The triangle tactile warning label was created to inform the visually impaired of products that could be considered hazardous if not used in the way they were intended.

The symbol consists of a raised equilateral triangle and is normally made of a clear plastic with permanent adhesive. EU countries require that toxic, flammable, or dangerous products carry this mark. These tactile labels comply with BS EN ISO 11683: 1997.
